Soggy Season So Far
Trout season is off to a soggy start. Multiple rain storms are keeping the rivers high and un-wadable . The Brook Trout fishing in the ponds on the other hand have been fantastic with yet another State record broken in the southwestern Adirondacks. The latest record is now 6.2 lbs and 22 inches. When the rivers do come down to a reasonable depth, the Brown Trout fishing has been excellent with lots of streamer, nymph and dry fly action. The saddest part of the season thus far is the turbine below the Cranberry Lake dam is busted and the lake is raging through the overflow gate making the pool almost un-fishable.
