Snow on the Ground and Spring in the Air
What a beautiful day it has been – sunny skies and mid 30’s! Tomorrow is predicted to be clear with a high of 37°. This will be a great weekend to get outside and enjoy the tail end of winter. X-C ski trails are packed and fast, snowmobile trails are groomed and the lake has a few inches of snow on top of ice, though you may have to dodge a few pockets of slush.
I would expect that the sap in the maple trees is beginning to flow and sugaring season will be quickly upon us. Remember, Maple Weekend is March 16 & 17 and March 23 & 24. Many sugar makers will be open for visitors to see the process of turning sap into syrup, including the Wild Center in Tupper Lake and other producers in St. Lawrence County and Lewis County.
And we’ll be sure to have a pancake breakfast served hot at the lodge those weekends, too!
